Setup
How to set up your Eudora 5 & 6 mail reader
STEP BY STEP SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are only for individuals with a direct Internet connection, by modem or network. If you are behind a firewall or proxy server, the information below may not work. Consult your network administrator for more information.
EUDORA 5 & 6
INITIAL SETUP
Email account setup.
Create a brand new email account, next.
Your name: it will appear with your email address in email that you send, next.
EMail address: your full email address YourEmailName@<yourdomain>.com, next.
Login address: YourEmailName#<yourdomain>.com, next.
Incoming mail server: mail.iperform.NET
server type: pop, next
Outgoing mail server: mail.iperform.NET
Allow authentication, YES, next.
Finish.
Select the new personality, right click, properties.
Under the generic properties tab, go to the Secure Sockets
when sending box, select NEVER.
Under the incoming mail tab, go to the Secure Sockets when
receiving box, select NEVER.
Click OK.
TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL PERSONALITY
Tools Pulldown, personalities.
Right click in the white area of the personalities window, new.
For eudora 6 enter personality name for your own identification.
Create a brand new email account, next.
Your name: it will appear with your email address in email that you send, next.
EMail address: your full email address YourEmailName@<yourdomain>.com, next.
Login address: YourEmailName#<yourdomain>.com, next.
Incoming mail server: mail.iperform.NET
server type: pop, next
Outgoing mail server: mail.iperform.NET
Allow authentication, YES, next.
Finish.
MODIFY AN EXISTING ACCOUNT
Tools Pulldown, personalities.
Select the personality to modify by clicking on it once, right click on it, select properties.
GENERIC PROPERTIES TAB
Real name: will be sent with your email address
Return address: YourEmailName@<YourDomain>.com
Login name: YourEmailName#<YourDomain>.com
smtp server: mail.iperform.NET
Authentication allowed: yes
Default domain: empty
Default stationery: your preference
Default signature: your preference
Secure sockets: never
check mail: your preference
INCOMING MAIL TAB
Server: mail.iperform.NET
Configuration: pop
Leave mail on server: NO
Authentication: passwords
Secure sockets: never
Others: as you prefer
