Setup
How to set up your OUTLOOK or OUTLOOK EXPRESS mail reader.
NOTE: If you are using Outlook Express (Internet Explorer)
older than version 5.5, there are serious security problems with
the old versions. We strongly recommend that you upgrade to
version 5.5 or later.
For Outlook 2000, or Outlook Express 5 or 6
For Outlook 2002, and 2003
To create a new account on Outlook 2000, Outlook Express 5 or
6:
Start Outlook or Outlook express.
At the top of the page, Tools pull-down, Accounts, Mail tab,
click the Add button on the right,
Mail,
Display name is whatever friendly name you like for this mail
account. This is the name that recipients will see the mail is
from. Next.
Email address is your full email address with username the @
sign and the domain name such as YourEmailName@<YourDomain>.com,
Next.
Incoming mail server is a POP3.
Incoming mail mail.iperform.NET
SMTP server is mail.iperform.NET, Next.
Account name is your full email address YourEmailName@<YOURDOMAIN>.COM
Password is your email password.
Remember password is optional, your choice.
Do not check "log in using secure password", Next,
Finish.
This takes you back to internet accounts, select your new
account by clicking on it, and click the properties button at the
right.
Click the servers tab. At the bottom of the box, outgoing mail
server, check the box MY SERVER REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION.
Click SETTINGS, select - use same settings as my incoming
mail.
Click OK, OK, Close the internet accounts box.
Click the Send/Receive button at the top of Outlook Express to
test your mail pickup.
When it tries to connect to the mail server, it will ask you
for your user ID and password twice. Remember to use your FULL
EMAIL ADDRESS for the user ID.
Try sending an email to yourself as a test.
To modify an existing account on Outlook 2000, Outlook Express
5 or 6:
There are two items that need to be modified from the old
standard mail server for the new more secure mail server. They are
in caps in the procedure above.
Open Outlook or Outlook express.
Click the tools pull-down, select accounts.
Click on the account once to select it, and click the
properties button on the right.
Select the servers tab at the top.
The fields to change are:
ACCOUNT NAME - should be your full email address <YourEmailName>@<YourDomain>.com
MY SERVER REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION - should be checked.
Incoming mail server is a POP3.
Incoming mail mail.iperform.NET
SMTP server is mail.iperform.NET, Next.
For Outlook 2002, or 2003
To add a new account:
At the top of the page, Tools pull-down, Email accounts, new,
next
Pop3, next
To change an existing account:
At the top of the page, Tools pull-down, email accounts,
change, next
Click once on the account that you want to change, click the
change button on the right.
(CONTINUE portion for new or existing
accounts)
Either procedure brings you to the Internet email settings
box.
Internet email settings pop3, the page should look like this:

Your Name is what what you want people to see when they
receive your email.
Your email address is your full email address YourEmailName@YourDomain.com.
Username is your FULL email address YourEmailName@YourDomain.com.
Password is your email password. Passwords are case sensitive,
upper case and lower case do matter.
Incoming mail server is mail.iperform.NET.
Outgoing mail server is mail.iperform.NET.
Click the MORE SETTINGS button.
The more settings page looks like this:

Check the "My outgoing server requires
authentication" box.
Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail
server".
Click OK, you should go back at the email accounts page.
On the accounts page, click the "Test account
settings". This should send a test massage to you. The test
feature gives you indicators as to the progress of the test. If
all the test indicators are showing good, you are probably ready
to go. If any of the indicators show a problem, check that you
have entered the information correctly. If the test still shows a
